Question about login screens and other DEs...

Some I'm wondering about using installing and trying other DEs, like GNOME or Fluxbox or XFCE, will installing them break anything about the GNOME Classic install that Triquel comes with?
Second, how to I get into them? On past distros I've used you could logout and on the login screen you could choose which DE you wanted to go into. The login screen on Triquel does not seem to have that? So what does one do here?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings northernarcher:
Concerning your first question, the answer is no: Installing other Desktop environments doesn't break the default gnome flashback so don't worry about that.
And about your second question, when you install a new DE, an icon will apear on the upper right corner of the little box where you select the user and write your password.
Also, to nitpick Fluxbox is but a window manager and not a full blown DE. And gnome is what you have by default, unless you're running Trisquel mini where lxde is the default.
It's a full-blown desktop shell, though, and I'll assume that's what he meant. (I consider desktop shells of little other than its flagship WM a full-blown shell).
