Referring to this post and a few threads on this topic, I think it would make sense to add a new manual on how to rip dvds with subtitles in sync (which for some reason does not work with the latest software for this).

1) Can I just decide to do it? I.e.: What do others think of this?
2) If I should, how can I add new manual? (I only know how to revise an existing one)

  1. Thank you in advance!
  2. I linked to https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/rip-dvds in https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/all-manuals and, after clicking on the former link, you can start the redaction of the new manual.

The manual needs not be perfect. It can only present solution with HandBrake and no other program, for instance. It will be already be much better than no manual!

I have now given it a shot.

Please, anybody, help revising the content, my English and my technical language.

Thank you! I corrected what the spell checker pointed out, added the prompt in the command lines, removed space there, and changed the proposed text editor (most users have Pluma and not Mousepad). You should install a spell checker, the package hunspell-en-us for instance.

I personally find your phrasing verbose, but it is fine. Thank you one more time for your involvement!

I tend to agree, but on the other hand, I know only too well what it's like to be a noob: Get information you don't really understand and fail.

I might very well have missed something,m but I prefer English English.

It was fun.
