Tuxedo changes its base from Ubuntu to Debian
Hi,
Tuxedo is a German company which makes/creates Linux laptops.
I bought one of them and installed Trisquel and Guix on it.
Tuxedo OS is their main distribution which is based on Ubuntu.
Now they decided to change from Ubuntu to Debian.
They will base their Tuxeod OS on Debian because of several reasons.

You have to translate it in your language.
May be this will also be thought through concerning Trisquel, the maintainers have to consider it and decide if that would be also less work in future for Trisquel. (of course to change would be more work.)
Ubuntu makes it more and more complicated to base on it.
Debian gives more freedom...

You shouldn't be thumbed down as I consider this interesting.
However Devuan would also be an option in my opinion. It would lighten the resources used probably/more secure although Genuen does exist already so debian might be a good idea.
Also I think debian supports way more architectures.
This being said, this has been debated many, many times, perhaps that's why you were thumbed down?
Seems the hate is on me too though.
