Hi,
I have bought some times ago the T440p to run free software on it.
Everything works well, everything was upgraded (screen, keyboard, RAM and storage).
Everything is technically in perfect condition, there are minor scratches as it is a second hand.
I installed GuixOS and Windows 10 but I have not been using it that much so I decided to sell it.
I can share more specs if anyone is interested,
Cheers.

Lenovo T440p system specifications:

- Intel Core i7 4700MQ CPU @2.4 Ghz
- 16 GB RAM
- Intel HD Graphics 4600
- 2 x 1 TB SSD
- New monitor 16 inch, 60 Hz refresh rate
- New keyboard with back light
- New touchpad
- Wifi 4 (802.11n): Qualcomm Atheros AR946x 2.4 Ghz

Not used a lot since the purchase from Vikings.net because I am mostly on my mobile.

Everything works very well under GuixOS and Windows 10 except for the webcam
(There was a workaround for the webcam but I have not bothered).

It has now Coreboot (SeaBIOS) bios and Windows 10 installed on it.

Happy to reply to any further questions...
Cheers,

Hello ahmetcgl!

Aw, it's a bit of a shame you couldn't put it to good use, but I'm sure you'll find someone here who will! If you can't, another use-case comes to mind; this thing is perfectly viable as a small NAS (esp. given you already have it plus two fairly large SSDs; buying RAM/SSDs in 2026 is pretty painful for the bank account). With some power and fan tweaking (TLP/powertop/zcfan) you would be able to further optimise the "experience" re: power usage and noise levels. If you decide doing this, I'd recommend to leave the lid open for better thermals and dont' forget to limit the battery charge somewhere between 60 and 80% to keep it in its preferred state.

I'm pretty sure the webcam issue you mentioned boils down to GuixSD specifics, since it works well with Trisquel or Debian, for example. Perhaps quickly verify it's not an hardware issue with the Trisquel live ISO before selling it.

One small correction: the T440p has a 14-inch display. Your config has the IPS display which looks awesome (this is my favorite display among all old-ish Thinkpads), which is also worth mentioning (hope you don't mind that I mention this here).

Toodles,

/thum
