Reminder if x11 crashes on Trisquel 11/12 if you have Intel integrated graphics chipsets
I just migrated to from Trisquel 11 to Trisquel 12 nothing to say about again another great work.
But I started to have x11 crashing when I open pdf files, or sent emails, or certain types of gif in abrowser or videos in vlc and it came back to me that it already happened in the past.
If anyone has again these issues here's the how to by jfw01, thank you again jfw01.

Thanks. I have a similar issue with T12 when watching certain videos on my Libreboot X200. The system randomly freezes and requires a hard restart. This mostly happens on long Patreon and Youtube vids. I have checked the system logs without success. I noticed that Hardware Acceleration was turned on in Abrowser, possibly by an errant update. (Normally I leave it turned off.) Don't yet know if that is the cause.
I've done some experimenting and the crashes still occur if I watch the vids with Chrome Browser. So it is unlikely that this an Abrowser issue. I am still monitoring for crashes, but they don't happen very often. This is somewhat annoying, but the T12 system is otherwise flawless. T11 did not have this issue. The issue arose with the T12 update and has persisted since.
Luckily, I have a newer Linux Chromebook with a better display and audio than the old X200, so lately I just switch to that for videos.
If it is the same issue, the workaround provided in the documentation should fix it.
The wiki has a stable page to document the issue and help troubleshooting it:
Hi, if this is a base-install that you built up it is possible that the xf86-video-intel package is missing. Without this, your X200 will feel less like an X200 and more like a X40. This may not be the name of the package in Trisquel though.
Essentially you need the Mesa and intel video drivers that are entirely free software for this hardware. Then reboot and it should speed up dramatically.
For youtube, I suggest not torturing your core2duo and using things like ytfzf where you can watch youtube in your terminal. The T420 is far better equipped for this however youtube should be avoided for serious privacy considerations.
