Hello, everyone.

I don't really use forums, but I created this account because, through IRC and web searches, I couldn't find much help or guidance on which projects I might be able to contribute to.

For some background, I'm proficient in C/C++, Python, and shell scripting.

I've been tinkering with GNU/Hurd and trying to work on some of its problems, but it's a Herculean task. There is a lot of documentation to read, and I think it'll take me some time before I can do something truly useful.

I'd like to help with browsers (Abrowser or IceCat), compilers, writing articles (if someone has a blog but doesn't have the time), or guides about setting up a free software system (Trisquel, GPG, mail setup, etc.), or any other suggestions.

If you need help with something and are willing to provide some guidance (I don't mean telling me how to do it, but rather what needs to be done), I'd be glad to help.

I prefer to communicate through email, so if you're interested, send me your email address along with your GPG key so we can continue the conversation after discussing things here.

Best regards to everyone.

Hopefully you have received some emails.

Not really knowledgeable myself but I did find this

I did notice somewhere the idea of bringing browser extensions from mozilla for Abrowser.

This is currently known as Mozzarella: https://gnuzilla.gnu.org/index.php.

You will be redirected there if you search for extensions in the about:addons page on Abrowser.

You can always visit the issue tracker here: https://gitlab.trisquel.org/groups/trisquel/-/issues.

You will certainly be able to help researching and/or triaging issues. Some of them only require marginal modification of a package, sometimes backporting from upstream, in which case you may also be able to help by sending MRs.

My suggestion, find something broken and propose a fix for it, it shouldn't be too hard to find somethign broken :)
Ask for a gitlab.trisquel.org account.

You can also help reviewing and updating documentation here on the wiki, there is plenty to look at.
Or write some new one that you don't see available right now.

Thanks for the offering
