The Best TV without Smart TV, Google TV, or other Junk.
Hi everyone.
Does anyone know of any companies that make Smart TVs without Google TV and other junk?
With a 2K screen or, better yet, 4K?
I’m planning to buy a single-board computer and use a TV like that with KODI or something similar.
If what you mean is the best TV without privacy invasive crap, then I think the only reason your being thumbed down is because of where you posted this.
general free software talk is probably where you shouldve posted this.
You can buy a 4K, 5K, 6K, 8K computer monitor. There are many on the market. I use a Samsung 4K UHD monitor/display.
I need at least 40 inch. Looking at Samsung's website, there is one large enough (43 inch) but it is "smart". Do you know any non-smart of that size?
Thank you for your responses.
Hello Zoma,
As for the negative reviews, those are just someone’s opinions and don’t constitute an answer—they’re nothing more than emotions. I’m a proponent of well-reasoned arguments, accurate technical information, and a focus on that approach.
Hello Icarolongo,
As for monitors, I read that information but forgot about that option; thank you very much for reminding me.
As for TVs without Smart TV or Google TV: Manufacturers of TVs without Smart TV
This might be useful to someone...
The best bet will be to just get a large computer monitor with VGA support and connect that to your schizopad.
I buy a TV with whatever smart crap on it, then don't use the smart crap or connect it to the internet.
Hi Calher,
You’ll be really surprised when you press the “POWER OFF” button on the remote and then check your router to see what your “smart” TV—which you think you’ve turned off—is actually doing.
Even after being turned off, it communicates with servers and sends data packets.
All modern smart TVs from big corporations are pure evil and junk.
I agree that using a 4K monitor with a single-board computer is probably the best solution!
If the TV is not connected to the Internet (never giving the Wi-Fi password, nor connecting by Ethernet), as calher wrote, the router does not even know of it.
Right, but I am afraid it might refuse to work if not connected to internet. Last time I tried replacing my TV, I brought it back to the shop after 2 days as it was nearly impossible to just watch TV from the antenna.
I agree there... HD better if you need cable.
