Reboot takes to long

I just acquired a laptop with Trisquel, i did sudo apt update and upgrade. After rebooting it the Trisquel logo keps appearing but it hasn't changed for a couple hours.

I never trust any operating system that comes with a computer. My first step is to format and reinstall. Perhaps I'll play with it a for a few minutes to verify if things work correctly but that's it.
