Rednotebook templates not showing

Hi there!

I am trying a portable install of Trisquel 5.0 Mini on a portable USB HDD. It seems to be be okay, for the most part. But for some reason, Rednotebook (I use that a lot for note keeping) will not insert templates, lines, pictures, or anything else. I've never had problems with this app before.

Does anyone know why Rednotebook won't respond properly like that in Trisquel?

Thanks!

Marking as fixed as this bug was fixed in version 1.1.3 of rednotebook (see line 11). Version 1.1.6 is included in the new Trisquel 5.5 which should solve the problem.

Hi All!

I found the problem; it's a bit of a bug in the (slightly older) version of RedNotebook that I've got. Someone on LXDE forums pointed it out to me. The fix is as follows:
- You need to go to /usr/share/rednotebook/rednotebook
- Open the file templates.py
- Look for this; date = date.decode(date)
- Should be on line 168
- Replace that with; date = date.decode()

Once that's done, then RedNotebook inserts templates good and proper!
